You won’t need to worry about injuring or hurting yourself as all classes are run by our team of highly qualified Physios and sports therapist’s. You will be in safe hands throughout each stage and season of your life as our clinical specialists are experts in helping folk overcome injuries and health concerns. They optimise then maximise your movement and ability to exercise.

Following an individual assessment and movement screen, we have 3 different class memberships to choose from to meet your exact needs. You will get lots of individual attention from our team as we keep classes small (maximum of 8). You won’t get bored as we don’t do repeats, keeping things fresh and different every week. This keeps you interested, progressing and getting the best, long-term outcome.

Why Join VIGOUR HealthClub

Following your individual assessment, we work out exactly what exercise you need so you don’t waste time with classes that don’t work. You just need to turn up!

Each class has different benefits from strength, cardio, balance, mobility, control to relaxation. We’ve designed them using research and recommendation from the World Health Organisation (WHO), on what weekly exercise everybody needs to stay healthy. You can lose your worries and fears about exercise, if you are doing the right things, and the future, by joining VIGOUR HealthClub.

Part of your membership gives you access to the online library of pre-recorded classes in case you can’t make it to the Hub. We direct you to the content specific to you. We also livestream some of our classes giving you complete flexibility and no excuses!

If you’ve tried “quick fixes” or fads with your health and exercise you know these bang-or-bust strategies offer short term changes only, along with injuries! They are impossible to stick to long term and keep you stuck where you are. Making lasting changes with your body and health takes time, effort and guidance. There is no real alternative that works long term.

Our Classes

Let us worry about what type of class and exercise you need. You just focus on turning up!

 

All classes will be different each week, keeping you progressing and avoiding boredom. Every exercise is tailored to your unique needs because classes are small, and we know your body. All classes will be achievable yet challenging enough to make changes without injury.

 

 

Strong

Using body weight and equipment you will do targeted exercises to get strong throughout your body. There is no cardiovascular element to this class, we focus only on getting control and power in a calm environment. Everyone needs specific strength-based exercise in their week to reverse muscle loss that occurs after 30. Strength exercise is your antidote to boosting metabolism, memory and burning fat, preventing heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, dementia and low mood. No other exercise can give you ALL this whilst reducing symptoms of inflammation, arthritis, prevents falls and aiding sleep.

 

Fit

Specially designed to build your cardiovascular fitness, improving heart function and your endurance you will be challenged to get out of puff in a controlled and progressive way. FIT 1 and FIT 2 classes are done in a circuit format and cater for different ages and abilities. The impact on your joints can be adapted with exercise variations, giving you no excuses about getting fit!

FIT 1 is for those making a comeback to fitness or have never dabbled in cardio classes. Movements are done in standing or sitting with longer rest periods.

FIT 2 is the progression for those who can easily get on / off the floor and are ready to be pushed with less rest.

 

Pilates – Matwork

Pilates is a form of low impact exercise that focuses on improving posture and strengthening core muscles. It focuses the mind, improves your brain-body connection, and gets everything working together. Other benefits include increased flexibility, reduced aches and pains, relaxation, calming the mind and improved balance. It’s appropriate for any age and ability whether you are recovering from injury, postnatal, doing lots of sport or simply want to keep yourself in tip-top shape.

Taking Joseph Pilates mind-body conditioning from the 1920’s, we give it a clever twist with our clinical knowledge, making it suitable for practically everyone. We encourage all our

clients to do it as part of their self-care and exercise regime. It’s the perfect antidote to modern day life. These classes are part of our Vigour Health Club.

 

Pilates Stretch

This class will optimise how your body moves, enabling you to achieve more from other exercise, avoid working the wrong bits and causing injuries. This lower intensity class is a great start point after injury, illness or surgery. Exercises are designed to regain joint mobility and muscles lengthening and shortening. Combined, this gives you relaxation and fluidity in movement that you’ve not had in years!

Use it to wind down or a wake up you’ll move from one exercise to another incorporating elements of Pilates with yoga to get your spine, ribcage and pelvis moving properly with your arms and legs. This class is a must for almost everyone as an antidote to modern living, posture problems, movement compensations and stress.

 

Balance

If you are struggle to get on and off the floor, have concerns about your balance, falling, arthritis, joint replacements or are slower on your feet due to health problems, this is a class for you. You will exercises in a small group and safe environment, standing or sitting. We have heaps of variations to keep things interesting and get you the results and confidence to do more.

You can move and progress at your own pace under the watchful eye and care of our highly skilled therapists. This is a slower paced class and lots of fun.

How to start your exercise journey

 

A comprehensive assessment with one of our clinical experts starts your exercise journey with us. This “VIGOUR Induction” involves a full history taking of injury, illnesses and problem areas, followed by a physical examination. Combined, we can identify areas that are under or over performing and helps us prescribe what type of exercise and classes your body needs to reach your goals.

The VIGOUR induction fee is £115 for a 50minute appointment.

 

For those serious about their health and exercise...

You can start your VIGOUR journey by adding HealthHub MOT (link to website page) to your membership. It’s the annual preventative approach to health, exercise, fitness, and everyday life. Consider it in the same way you’d give your car a yearly service to keep it in tune and on the road!

You will receive a 12-month plan to avoid regression or injury occurrence and a pathway to help you achieve better health, movement and lifestyle. You will be clear why you are making changes and will have the confidence, support and peace of mind you are on the right track, not just left in classes to your own devices.
